Learn how to integrate principles of business, statistics and engineering 

As a Six Sigma Green Belt, you will be equipped to support and champion Six Sigma implementations in any organization. This introductory course will give you a thorough understanding of Six Sigma and how to eliminate defects through fundamental process knowledge. You’ll be able to quantify the critical quality issues in a company and then apply statistics to provide probabilities of success and failure.

 About the Instructor

Doug Long is currently the Global Director of Strategic Alliances at the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers. He has extensive experience in deployment of continuous improvement methodologies including Six Sigma, Lean (TPS), and Statistical Process Control, APQP, and ISO registration in prior positions at companies ranging from Fortune 500 firms to privately held venture capital start ups. He holds degrees in both Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management, is a Six Sigma Black Belt, an ASQ Certified Quality Manager, a Certified Quality Engineer, and a Certified Quality Auditor. For over 8 years, he has served on the ASQ Atlanta section board of directors, including multiple terms as section chair.

Course Comparisons

This course is shorter than many other Green Belt courses because only the tools and information necessary for immediate application. Additionally, the normal tuition for Green Belt courses is $1195 for IISE members.

At the end of the course, students take the IISE Green Belt Exam (included in the course fee). Participants who pass the exam, which in previous years has been at or close to 100% of students, receive IISE’s Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate. The course is ISO 13053 compliant.
